The Cemom group is an expert in the design, production and distribution in France and abroad of hinges for doors and windows through 3 product ranges: classic, adjustable and invisible. Based in France and in Poland with its subsidiary Polsoft, the group supplies the main European manufacturers of doors and windows. It produces roughly 60 million hinges a year in more than 300 product references and generates 85% of its sales revenue on the international market.
Its success stems both from the extremely consistent quality of its products and its ability to design technical grade innovative products thanks to an experienced in-house R&D office. The breadth of Cemom’s product ranges and its know-how in invisible hinges are real barriers to entry.
Context of the deal
Axio Capital has arranged the transfer of family-owned group Cemom through an MBO alongside the chief executive of the Polish subsidiary Andrzej Garlikowski, who becomes the group Chairman. Owned for 45 years by its founders the brothers Jean-Louis, Philippe and Michel Moatti, the Cemom group brands itself as one of the leading manufacturers of hinges for doors and windows in Europe and on the international market.
True to its culture as arranger of deals, Axio Capital has acquired a majority stake in the group and has brought in Entrepreneur Invest and 123IM to complete the funding round.
Advised by BNP Paribas Corporate Finance, the Moatti brothers chose the deal proposed by Axio Capital, which builds on the corporate culture that they have developed with a great deal of success. Jean-Louis Moatti is providing his assistance in this operational transfer of the group to Andrzej Garlikowski.
