The Clarisse group is an investment holding company holding majority and minority stakes in several French groups, like the Aquarelle.com group, Famileo or even Foodette.

Aquarelle is an e-commerce company that makes and delivers its own bouquets of flowers, in France and in 6 European countries. The group also offers the option of having flowers delivered abroad thanks to the network of partner sites of its subsidiary 123 fleurs.

Famileo lets children or grandchildren send regular news and photos to their forefathers. These messages are printed every month on paper in a gazette that is sent to them by post.

Context of the deal

The holding company of the brothers Maublanc, who hold Aquarelle, as well as Foodette or Famileo, generating €40m of sales revenue, has completed its first OBO with the support of Axio Capital in order to facilitate the transfer.

Formed in 1985, Clarisse, the family-run holding company of Henri and François de Maublanc, has made a name for itself by investing in numerous digital companies. In 2021, the company completely recast its ownership structure as part of an OBO done with Axio Capital.

In this deal, Armelle Baudard, hired as Chief Executive of the group in 2019, became a shareholder, as did Clarisse de Maublanc

Two Belgian investment vehicles, Federale Assurance and Finance&Invest.Brussels, completed the funding round.
