Formed in 1995 by the Lemarchand family, and taken over in July 2022 by Benjamin Blondeau and Stéphane Jacquelot, the COMDEV group brands itself as a producer and home distributor of fresh delicatessen products, both savoury and sweet.
Every month, a selection of 100 product references is offered to a clientele of retail customers by sales representatives who travel throughout the forty departments served by the group. The production site is based in Diou (Allier) and supplies the group’s 10 agencies every day.
In addition, Comdev offers a targeted range or frozen foods for supermarkets and hypermarkets and for the restaurant and catering trade.
Context of the deal
The family-owned group Golocal – Soprauvergne (production) and Distrifrais (distribution) was taken over in 2022 by Benjamin Blondeau and Stéphane de Jacquelot, with the support of Albarest, Garibaldi Participations and Axio.
This deal, which combines the challenge of continuity, thanks to the support of the group’s ex-chairwoman and the involvement of two heads of subsidiaries, with that of renewal, thanks to a new lease of life given by this pair of purchasers, should enable the group to consolidate its territorial coverage and expand its customer base.
