A film and TV series production company, Anton Production was formed in 2011 by Sébastien Raybaud. Anton initially suggested a co-financing solution and arranged co-financing contracts with renowned European studios.
Capitalizing on the data, network and know-how built up over these years, in 2018 the company launched into the production of its own content, which it sells to distributors or broadcaster. Anton specializes in “genre” content (action, science fiction, horror, etc.) or content for children, in English.
In a rapidly changing market, driven by demand for European content but with quality standards, Anton wishes to capitalize on this double approach (co-financing and content creation) to position itself as a European major on the film and TV series markets.
Context of the deal
In June 2022, Axio intervened as lead investor on a €10m funding round for Anton.
The purpose of this funding round was to give Anton the means to see through its growth plan, and in particular to increase the volume of content (films and TV series) produced every year, and to capitalize on its status as an independent studio to forge special relationships with first-rate talents.
